The Dybbøl Mill
As a building, Dybbøl Mill is neither particularly old nor very special. The mill’s iconic significance as a Danish symbol is due to its location at the top of the Dybbøl Banke. Here it became the centre of the fierce fighting in the wars of 1848-49 and 1864. During both the Schleswig Wars, it was destroyed but rebuilt.

Permanent exibitions
Dybbøl Mill is today designed as a museum. On the magazine’s two floors you will find our new exhibition about the mill’s history with the themes:
- Why are you here?
- People at the mill
- The many mills
- The battle for the mill
- Dybbøl as a place of remembrance
In the magazine building, you can also see the mill’s newer machinery from 1936-1990. In the mill tower, you can explore the old grinders and enjoy the view of the Dybbøl Banke from the gallery.
