Autumn Holidays (weekday)

Inside the building:

  • Cinema 1: Doomsday for Denmark
  • Cinema 2: The attack on Als

Both films run every 20 minutes throughout the day. The film is translated via earphones, which you will be given at the entrance. Select channel 1 for German, channel 2 for English. Remember to return your earphones before leaving the history center.

We have several exhibitions about the War of 1864. Most exhibitions have been translated into either German or English. In some places, the translation can be read via a QR code.

The reconstructed redoubt

Out in our facility you can see a reconstructed redoubt and a soldiers’ camp. In the stalls you can buy goods and try several activities, including bullet casting and pancake baking. Payment is made with shillings, which was the currency of the time. You change from kroner to shilling in the little shop (no. 10 on the map).

Guided tours in either German or English

11.00 and 13:50: A tour of our facility. The guided tour is announced by call.

Weapon demonstrations

10.40 and 15.30: The riffle is fired.

11.30 and 14.30: A story about cannons. On most days the cannon is fired afterwards.

All firings begin with an explanation in Danish. The staff’s safety instructions must be followed.
