AutumnSeasons Overview

17. August 2026 – 30. September 2026

Visit the History Centre Dybbøl Banke and step directly into the history of the war in 1864 between the Danes and the Prussians. In our authentic redoubt reconstruction, you can for the first time since 1864 walk around in a Danish redoubt system. Among other things, you can see the large block house built from bomb beams weighing tons and go down into the powder room, which was the only building in the redoubt made of concrete. You can experience life behind the front in the soldiers' village, where you can try out a telegraph and lie down in the straw in the personnel barracks.

Inside the History Centre we show the two films Doomsday for Denmark (Dommedag for Danmark) about the 1864 war and The Attack on Als (Angrebet på Als) about the decisive battle on June 29, 1864.

You can take part in three daily tours of our fortifications and soldiers' village.

We recommend that you end the visit with a walk along the Danish fortification line outside the History Centre.
